Avito listing title: how many characters and which words

The listing form gives you 50 characters for a title — five to seven words. Avito’s search matches on them, so the title needs what a buyer types into the search box: what it is, the brand or model and the main spec. “Selling”, “urgent” and exclamation marks take up space and bring no buyers. Paste your title into the checker.

Check your listing title

Counts the characters, shows where the title gets cut and separates what is banned from what is merely useless.

Formula: what it is + model/brand + main spec.

The sample is a typical Russian title — that is the language Avito buyers search in. Paste yours in Russian or English: the checks work for both.

How the card looks in the feed

It will pass moderation, but it loses impressions and clicks.

  • Word in caps «ПРОДАМ» — Caps read as shouting and are harder to scan; stand out by meaning, not by case.
  • "Selling" at the start «ПРОДАМ» — The buyer already knows it is for sale — the word takes the space a search term could use.
  • "Urgent", "haggle", "cheap" «срочно» — Nobody searches for them and they hint at a problem; sale terms belong in the description, not the title.
  • Decorative symbols «!!!» — Asterisks, runs of exclamation marks and emoji are not found by search and look like spam.

The chat opens with a message containing your title — you only need to add your city.

The limits were checked against seller guides in September 2026. In some categories — property and cars, for example — Avito builds the title from the parameters itself.

Title formula by listing type

Titles are written in Russian, because that is what buyers type. The examples below are real-looking Avito titles with an English gloss.

Keywords: which ones go first

The start of a title matters more than the end: it is visible at any card size, and it is what a buyer uses to decide whether the listing is what they want. So the first word should be the name people search for most often. Not just the model nickname, but “Кофемашина DeLonghi Dedica” (espresso machine + brand + model); not «коляска-трость» (umbrella stroller) if people in your city search for «прогулочная коляска» (pushchair).

You find out which wording is more popular from Yandex search statistics. A step-by-step guide to collecting words for your region is in the chapter Wordstat for Avito. The short route is to ask an AI to check search volume first and write second:

Do not list other brands

«Кроссовки как Nike, Adidas, Puma» (“trainers like Nike, Adidas, Puma”) is not a way into other people’s searches but a reason to reject the listing: Avito treats it as keyword spam and misleading the buyer. The title names your item only.

What is banned, and what just gets in the way

  • Banned: a phone number, links, an email, an invitation to message you on a messenger, other brands for search. These get a listing rejected or blocked.
  • In the way: «продам» and «продаю» (“selling”), «срочно» (“urgent”), «торг» (“open to offers”), caps, emoji and rows of exclamation marks. They pass moderation but use up characters that could have brought buyers.

What next

The title brings the buyer in; the description convinces them — how to write an Avito description. The title is already good but views are low — work through the funnel in the chapter no views on Avito. The whole path from photo to sale — how to sell on Avito.

Frequently asked questions

How many characters can an Avito title have?
In the listing form, 50 characters. Through Autoload, which shops use, up to 100, but desktop search results show about 83 and a phone shows fewer. Put the most important part first.
How do I write an Avito listing title properly?
Use the formula “what it is + brand or model + main spec”, in Russian. The first word is the name people search for most often. No “selling”, “urgent”, caps, emoji or contacts. For services: “service + what is included + area”.
Where do I get keywords for Avito?
Avito has no public search statistics of its own, so sellers use Yandex Wordstat: it shows how people phrase their searches and lets you pick a region. The main phrase goes at the start of the title, synonyms in the description.
Can I write “urgent” or “open to offers” in the title?
It will pass moderation, but nobody searches for those words and title space is limited. Sale terms — haggling, urgency, delivery — are better placed in the description.
Can I name several brands in the title?
No, if the item belongs to one of them. Listing other brands to get into search is treated by Avito as keyword spam, and the listing may be rejected.

Titles based on how an item is searched in your city are available in the Twelver chat: the AI checks Wordstat first, then writes. Starter tokens arrive on your first visit, and signing up adds more.
