How to make a presentation with AI in a minute
The most common request people give an AI for presentations is simple: "make me a presentation about…". And that's exactly why the result usually comes out mediocre — the model is guessing at everything you left out. The good news: getting a decent draft on the first try just takes adding four extra details to your topic.
The prompt formula
Build your prompt from five pieces and the model will hit the mark:
- Topic and key message. Not "about marketing," but "how we cut our cost per lead in half this quarter."
- Audience. An executive, a client, students — this shapes the tone and depth.
- Goal. What should the listener do afterward: approve a budget, buy, remember three points.
- Length. How many slides, and which sections are mandatory.
- Tone. Formal, friendly, or sales-driven.
What happens next
The AI will propose a structure (problem → solution → details → conclusion), write bullet points for every slide, and pick visuals. After that, three things are worth doing by hand: check the numbers, rewrite the first and last slide's headline in your own voice, and cut any slides that don't serve the goal.
Try the formula on your own topic — you get a finished deck with a structure and slides, not a single picture:

If you already have a text or a report, don't generate from scratch — put together a presentation from an existing document instead: it's more accurate. And all the steps of the guide are in the overview chapter.
